To understand salvation and what Jesus did for the world you first have to understand God and why there was a need for what Jesus did.

You first need to know that God is. God simply is everything. God made everything and God can destroy everything. God is our spiritual Father which makes us his children. God cannot sin. God is Holy. God is Perfect.

In the beginning God gave us 10 simple rules to follow which you may know as the Ten Commandments below:

1. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me.

2. You shall not make for yourself a graven image. You shall not bow down to them or serve them.

3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

5. Honor your father and your mother.

6. You shall not kill.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet.

When you break one of these Commandments it is called a sin. All of the Commandments deal with everything that God is not. The bible says "God is Love".

If you Love God with all your heart, you will not worship other gods and you will want to do what he wants you to do which is Love Him as much as He Loves you.

If you Love people, you will not steel from them.

If you Love people you will not lie to them.

If you Love your wife, you will not cheat on her or lust after other women.

If you Love your neighbor you will not want everything he or she has. You will be happy for them that they have nice things.

If you Love people you will not murder or kill them.

1 Corinthians 4-7 says:(Charity is Love)

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

So as you can see, Loving God with all your heart and soul and Loving other people as much as you Love yourself is all God asks from us. You cannot make Love. Love is a gift from God. You can only give Love to others. It is very important that you understand that Love is Holy because God is True Love. Whatever is not of Love is sin.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

If you think you haven't sinned then you are lying to yourself. You may think you are a good person but according to Gods standards you are not if you have disobeyed his commandments.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

As you can see the Bible is very clear that all sinners will not go to Heaven (also known as the kingdom of God).

Well, if all have sinned and no sinners can go to heaven, how can one get saved? We will get to that in a moment, but first we need to understand why you need to be saved and from what.

The bible says "For the wages [payment] of sin is death."

We will all be judged by God when we die. If we die in our sins we will be judged by God and sent to hell (The lake of fire that burns for eternity). This is how serious it is for you to read and understand this because if you do not get saved you will be in hell forever. I would not be sitting here writing this for you if I did not care about you and what happens to you when you die, so please do not take this lightly. This is the most important decision you will ever make.

But I have good news!

John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Romans 10:9 - 11 says "9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed."

All you have to do is confess with your mouth (tell others) you believe in Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and you will be saved!

In Luke 18:13, the sinner prayed: “God be merciful to me a sinner.

Simply pray this out loud to God: “God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Savior. I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of Your merciful grace. Amen.”

If you prayed that prayer, you just got saved! God made salvation so simple that the bible says that if anyone calls apon the name of the Lord (meaning Jesus) he shall be saved.

It is also very important that you find a church to go to. The reason is because the devil will desperately try to tempt you into everything he possibly can so that you cannot be a witness to other people about what Jesus has done for you. His goal is to make Christians look bad to the world so that more people will not want to come to Jesus.

It is even more important that you read the bible (I suggest the King James Version) so that you can read the truth for yourself. It is important that you know and understand the bible so that you can tell others about Jesus with confidence. Which is why going to Church is important because they will be able to teach you about the things you may not understand.

Most important is to remember that God loves you and he will allways love you. Jesus said he will stick with you closer than a brother. Jesus also said he will never leave you nor forsake you. Paul the apostle said there was nothing that could seperate us from the love of God.

Please don't ever forget that.
